Wellingborough Biomass Plant – Deconstruction Project Update

The 50t Tail End was skated and lifted out of the Biomass building by the Project team last week, safely and successfully.

With just 90mm clearance on the head height and not much more for the width, Will Patterson – Grad IOSH, AIEMA, John Costello and Dave Lavery CMIOSH, IQA, IMaPs, DipRSA ensured that the operation went smoothly with the crane and skating company.

Thanks to DCV ENGINEERING LIMITED AND FJ Crane Hire Ltd for the skating and crane scopes of work – executed with absolute professionalism.

A relieved looking Will Patterson – Grad IOSH, AIEMA reflecting on a busy morning and safe execution by his Site team.

Thank You to the Project team and contract partners for another significant Project Milestone being safely achieved.

Final arrangements being made for the 26T Boiler unit and 50T Tail end units to be turned by tandem lifting and placed on special vehicles. Once loaded they will make their way via road and special permits to the continent and their final destination.
