Wellingborough Biomass Plant – Deconstruction Project Update

The Rotamac EPC Energy Solutions Ltd and Vincere Training and Business Solutions Wellingborough Deconstruction Project is continuing in line with our Clients schedule, and has been another safe week for the Site team led by Will Patterson – Grad IOSH, AIEMA & Dave Lavery CMIOSH, IQA, IMaPs, DipRSA.

Our deconstruction strategy and commentary, has been provided by our Structural Engineering Consultant Ben Fellowes, and the team have diligently followed this during the removal of the complex Turbine / Deaerator pipe-rack which is circa 6m above grade.

The team have now finalised and prepared the Turbo-Generator area for their safe removal early next week, which marks yet another significant milestone for both the Project and our Client.

Further site enhancements continue over the weekend – with the Site welfare facilities being relocated to the area that has been vacated by the fin-fan coolers equipment. This allows for even better safety control measures to be implemented, with even greater distance between the team and the moving vehicles on site.

In the background, our fantastic Principal Designer, Client Engineering team and our Project team members are finalising the cutting plans, lifting plans, and all control measures for the safe removal of the Furnace / Boiler , Superheaters and Evaporators later in the month and into March.

Keep posted for next weeks milestone updates. Fantastic team we have on site – great teamwork, comradery, growth mindset with a very healthy chronic unease for each piece of high risk work.

Thank you to all the team – amazing.
